Premier Inn Shrewsbury Town Centre Hotel Shrewsbury

Premier Inn Shrewsbury Town Centre Hotel Shrewsbury

So, there I was, wandering around Shrewsbury like a tourist in my own town - yes, it happens more often than you'd think! I'd spent the day exploring the Quarry Park and the Shrewsbury Abbey, and now I was in desperate need of a comfortable bed and a decent night's sleep. That's when I remembered the Premier Inn Shrewsbury Town Centre Hotel. I'd heard great things about it, but never actually stayed there. Well, folks, it was high time I checked it out for myself!

First Impressions

As I approached the hotel, I was immediately struck by how seamlessly it blended into the town centre. It's not one of those towering monoliths that scream "I'm a hotel, deal with it!" No, no, this one seems to say, "I'm just another part of the town, come on in, make yourself at home." And that's exactly what I did.

I was greeted at the reception by a friendly face who checked me in with the efficiency of a well-oiled machine. No long queues, no endless forms to fill out - just a warm smile and a quick chat about the best places to grab a bite to eat in town. I was already feeling pretty chuffed with my decision to stay here.

Room with a View

My room was on the third floor, and as I stepped out of the lift, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the corridors were quiet and calm. No loud music blaring from behind closed doors, no rowdy guests stumbling around - just the soft hum of the air conditioning. My room was clean, bright, and surprisingly spacious, with a comfy-looking bed that was calling my name.

But the pièce de résistance was the view. My room overlooked the beautiful River Severn, and as I stood there, watching the sun dip below the horizon, I felt a sense of peace wash over me. It was like having my own personal sunset show, and it was absolutely gorgeous.

Breakfast of Champions

The next morning, I made my way down to the restaurant for breakfast. Now, I'm not usually one to get too excited about hotel breakfasts - they can be a bit hit and miss, let's be honest. But this one was a real treat. There was a fantastic selection of food on offer, from the usual full English to continental options and even some healthier choices. I went for the works - why not, I was on holiday after all!

The best bit, though, was the coffee. I'm a bit of a coffee snob, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that the coffee here was actually really good. Strong, smooth, and just the way I like it. It was the perfect start to the day.

Sleep Easy

After breakfast, I had a bit of time to kill before I had to check out, so I decided to make the most of the hotel's facilities. The gym was well-equipped and not too busy, and the staff were more than happy to show me how to use some of the machines. I even managed to squeeze in a quick swim in the pool - it was just the right temperature, not too hot, not too cold. Perfect.

By the time I checked out, I was feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and ready to face the world again. And you know what? I reckon that's exactly what the Premier Inn Shrewsbury Town Centre Hotel sets out to do. It's not trying to be the fanciest, most luxurious hotel in town - it just wants to give you a comfortable night's sleep, a decent breakfast, and a friendly welcome. And in my book, that makes it a winner.

So, if you're ever in Shrewsbury and you're looking for a no-fuss, no-muss place to stay, I'd definitely recommend giving the Premier Inn a try. You never know, you might just find your new favourite hotel!
