Who Played Peggy Mitchell In Eastenders

So, you're curious about who played the iconic Peggy Mitchell in EastEnders, huh? Well, grab a cuppa, let's dish the dirt.

Barbara Windsor - The OG Peggy

First things first, the role of Peggy was born with Barbara Windsor. She slipped into those red heels and that iconic perm from 1994 to 2010, with a brief comeback in 2016. Barbara was like the mama bear of Albert Square, wasn't she?

I mean, who could forget her epic "Get outta my pub!" moment? Or her dramatic "You ain't my mother!" reveal? Barbara owned that role, and she'll always be our Queen of the Queen Vic.

Susan Tully - The Peggy Aftermath

Now, when Barbara left, EastEnders thought, "Who can fill those big shoes?" And they went with Susan Tully. She played Peggy from 2010 to 2013. Now, Susan's no stranger to the Square - she played Michelle Fowler back in the day.

But playing Peggy? That's a whole different ball game. Susan did a great job, though. She brought a different vibe to the role, didn't she? More subtle, more understated. But still, she rocked that perm and those heels.

What About Nancy?!

Oh, you thought we'd forget about Nancy? No way, Jose! When Peggy was off on her holidays, Nancy (played by the fabulous Maddy Hill) stepped up. She was Peggy's daughter, after all!

Nancy had her own style, didn't she? More laid-back, more modern. But she still had that Mitchell fire, that spit when she needed it. She was a breath of fresh air, and we loved her for it.

So, Who's Your Fave?

Alright, spill the beans. Barbara, Susan, or Nancy? Or maybe you're a "Peggy's Peggy, no matter who plays her" kind of person? Whatever your take, we can all agree that Peggy Mitchell is a legend.
