When Is The Easter Bank Holiday

So, you're wondering when that magical day, the Easter Bank Holiday, is gonna roll around this year, huh? Well, grab a cuppa, let's chat about it.

First things first, why does Easter have a mind of its own? It's like that one friend who's always fashionably late. Well, that's because Easter is a moveable feast, my friend. It's based on the lunar calendar, which is basically the moon's way of saying, "I do what I want!"

Now, you might be thinking, "But how do I know when Easter is?" Great question! Easter Sunday falls on the first Sunday after the first full moon after the vernal equinox. Say that five times fast! It's basically a cosmic game of musical chairs, but with bunnies and eggs instead of uncomfortable plastic seats.

So, when is it this year? Drumroll please... In 2023, Easter Sunday is on April 9th. Yes, you heard it here first! Now, let's talk about the bank holiday.

In the UK, the Easter Bank Holiday is a public holiday on the Monday following Easter Sunday. It's like Easter's plus one, always crashing the party. This year, that's April 10th. A whole extra day to stuff your face with chocolate and watch Easter movies, am I right?

But why do we get a bank holiday? Well, it's a bit of a thank you from the government for all the hard work we do. It's like they're saying, "Here's a day off, now go enjoy some quality time with your family and eat all the chocolate you can find!"

Now, you might be wondering, "What if Easter falls on a weekend? Do we still get a bank holiday?" Great question! If Easter Sunday falls on a weekend, the bank holiday is usually moved to the following Monday or Tuesday. It's like Easter's giving us a little bonus day, just because.

So there you have it, folks! Easter Sunday 2023 is on April 9th, and the bank holiday is on April 10th. Now go forth, plan your long weekends, and start hoarding chocolate. Just remember to leave some for the rest of us, yeah?
