When Does The Oscars Start Uk

Hey there, film buff! You're all geared up for the Oscars, right? But hold on, you're in the UK, and you're wondering, "When does this cinematic extravaganza start for me?" Well, grab a cuppa, let's chat about it.

When's the Big Show?

So, the Oscars kick off at 5 PM PST, yeah? That's 1 AM for us Brits, right? Now, don't go rolling your eyes, I know it's late, but think about it, it's the perfect excuse to have a late-night movie party!

But wait, you're a night owl, you say? Well, lucky you! The red carpet starts around 11:30 PM UK time. You can catch all the glamour, the gossip, and maybe even a fashion faux pas or two. It's like our very own Royal Wedding, but with more diamonds and fewer hats.

Time Zones, Eh?

Now, I know what you're thinking, "Why so late, mate?" Well, it's all about the time zones, innit? The Oscars want to catch the prime-time audience in the US. But hey, we get to stay up late and feel fancy, so let's not complain too much.

And if you're thinking, "Nah, mate, I'm not staying up that late," I feel you. You can always set your PVR or catch up the next day. The magic of modern tech, eh?

What's the Best Way to Watch?

Alright, so you've decided to stay up. Good on ya! Now, where to watch? Well, the Oscars are on Sky in the UK. If you've got Sky Cinema or Sky Atlantic, you're sorted. If not, you might need to call up the parents or that friend with all the streaming services.

And hey, if you're feeling fancy, why not have a themed night? Get some popcorn, some fancy snacks, and maybe even a red carpet of your own. You could even make it a Zoom party with your mates. Just don't forget to send them the invite!

Who's Hosting?

Now, you might be wondering, "Who's hosting this shindig?" Well, this year, it's Jimmy Kimmel. You know, the guy from those funny commercials. He's hosted before, so he knows the drill. And who knows, he might even bring back those cute little minions from the Oscars Emoji Movie.

But hey, if you're not feeling Kimmel, you can always mute him and have your own commentary. I won't judge. Just keep it clean, yeah? We don't want any of those Oscar-nominated actors reporting you to the academy.

What to Expect

So, what can you expect from this year's Oscars? Well, it's been a weird year for films, hasn't it? With all the streaming and whatnot. But there are some great films up for awards. "Nomadland," "The Father," "Promising Young Woman" - they're all in the mix.

And let's not forget the performances. Daniel Kaluuya, Viola Davis, Andra Day - they're all up for awards. It's going to be a big night for British talent, that's for sure.

But hey, it's not just about the awards. It's about the speeches, the performances, the "Oh my god, did they just say that?" moments. It's live TV, anything can happen!

And the Winner Is...

Now, I know what you're thinking. "Who's going to win?" Well, that's the million-dollar question, isn't it? I mean, I could tell you my predictions, but where's the fun in that?

So, grab your ballot, make your picks, and let's see how you do. And hey, if you win, don't forget to thank your mum in your acceptance speech. It's the Oscars way.

So, Are You Ready?

Alright, so there you have it. The Oscars are coming, and you're all set. You know when they start, where to watch, and what to expect. So, grab your snacks, get comfy, and let's enjoy the show!

And remember, no matter who wins or loses, it's all about celebrating the magic of film. So, here's to a great night at the movies. Cheers!
