When Does The London Marathon 2027 Ballot Open

Hey there, runner beans! You're in for a treat. We're talking about that big, shiny, golden ticket to the London Marathon. You know, the one that's more elusive than a selfie with Mo Farah. So, when does the 2027 ballot open? Let's dive in!

Mark Your Calendars!

Alright, so here's the big reveal. The ballot for the 2027 London Marathon opens on Monday, 3rd October 2026. Yes, you read that right. It's like waiting for Christmas as a kid, but with less mince pies and more lycra.

Now, you might be thinking, "That's ages away!" Well, my friend, time flies when you're sweating it out on the treadmill. Before you know it, you'll be pinning on your number and high-fiving the Queen (well, her waxwork at Madame Tussauds, but still!).

Why the Wait?

You might be wondering why we have to wait so long. Well, the folks at the London Marathon are like the ultimate event planners. They're busy behind the scenes, making sure everything is perfect for your big day. From the bling-tastic medals to the wall of sound cheering you on, they're pulling out all the stops.

Plus, let's not forget the little matter of 50,000 runners descending on the capital. That's a lot of pasta to fuel, water to hydrate, and selfies to snap. It's like herding cats, but with less hissing and more 'I've just run 26.2 miles' glow.

What's in a Name?

Now, here's where it gets interesting. The ballot is open to anyone and everyone. Yes, that means you, the person who's never run further than the fridge. The only catch? You've got to be over 18 and able to run (or walk, we don't discriminate) the distance.

But here's the kicker. You don't even need to have a time to enter. That's right, no PBs required. It's like the world's biggest lucky dip. You could be the next Eliud Kipchoge or the person who cheered the loudest at the last marathon. Either way, you're in with a shot.

Good Luck, and All That!

So there you have it, folks. The London Marathon 2027 ballot opens on 3rd October 2026. Mark it in your diary, set a reminder on your phone, or tattoo it on your arm (please don't do that, it hurts).

Now, go forth, train hard, and may the running gods be ever in your favor. And if you don't get in? Well, there's always the 2028 ballot. Until then, happy running!
