It Cant Go On Like This Can It

So, I was walking my dog the other day, and I swear, the world's gone mad. I mean, not that I'm one to talk, I named my dog 'Biscuit' because I thought it sounded fancy. Turns out, it just makes him sound like a snack. But I digress.

Let's Talk About 'It' Shall We?

You know 'it', right? The thing that's been happening. The one that's got us all going, 'It can't go on like this, can it?' I'm talking about the state of our inboxes, folks. Our poor, overworked, underappreciated inboxes.

Now, I'm not saying I'm an email expert. I once sent an email to my boss with the subject line 'Important Stuff' and the body just said 'Hi'. But I do know a thing or two about inbox overload, and I'm here to tell you, it's getting ridiculous.

An Email a Minute, Every Minute

Did you know that, on average, a businessperson receives 121 emails a day? That's like, what, an email every minute? I mean, who has the time to read all that? I can barely manage to check my horoscope once a day, let alone 121 emails.

And it's not just the quantity, it's the quality. I mean, have you seen some of these emails? 'Urgent Action Required' this, 'High Priority' that. I swear, if I see one more email with 'urgent' in the subject line, I'm going to lose it. I mean, what's so urgent about that report on last quarter's sales? It's not like it's a matter of life and death. Unless, of course, you're a salesperson, in which case, I apologize. Carry on.

But Why? Why, You Ask?

Well, I'll tell you why. It's because we've all become email addicts. I mean, have you ever tried to go a day without checking your email? It's like trying to go a day without breathing. You start feeling anxious, you start sweating, you start seeing emails everywhere. I saw an email on a leaf the other day. It said 'Fall is coming'. I didn't even know leaves could send emails.

And it's not just us. Even our pets are getting in on the action. I heard a story about a cat that sent its owner an email asking for more tuna. I kid you not. The cat learned to type by walking on the keyboard. I mean, if cats can send emails, what hope do we have?

But There is Hope

Yes, dear reader, there is hope. I've found a way to beat the email beast. I've started sending all my emails to myself. That way, I'm always at inbox zero. It's genius, right? I mean, sure, I might be talking to myself a lot, but at least I'm not talking to a bunch of strangers who keep sending me emails about 'urgent' stuff.

But seriously, folks, it's time we take control of our inboxes. It's time we say, 'It can't go on like this, can it?' Let's start by sending fewer emails. Let's start by thinking before we hit 'send'. And let's start by not sending our pets emails. They've got enough to worry about, like chasing their tails and not falling off the couch.

So, there you have it. The state of our inboxes, and how we can take back control. Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got an email to send. To myself. About something urgent. Like whether or not to get more coffee.
